Book Discussions

The Sacandaga Book Group began in Oct 2009. The group decides on titles and leaders for each discussion. They meet at the library usually on the second Tuesday of each month.

Story Time

Share the joy of reading with a child. The Children’s Story Time is for 2 thru 4 year old children to share new and exciting adventures through stories, crafts and songs. They listen and interact with stories read by enthusiastic community volunteers. Parents, grandparents, and friends are encouraged to bring preschool children to Story Time to experience together the warmth of the library and the joy that books can bring. Come and join the fun. The program is always looking for readers, musicians and interested volunteers. For more information, contact the Library at 518-863-6922. The Children’s Story Time Time: 10:00 a.m. (Please check with the library or note the Story Time poster for dates.)

Adult

The library, with financial backing from the Friends, provides educational, informational and cultural programs though out the year. Some programs related to local history and the Adirondacks, while others may be an author visit, travelogue, music performance, etc.

The Sacandaga Valley Arts Network (SVAN) coordinates year round art exhibits in the library’s program room/gallery and holds a reception for the artist every other month.

Children / Teen

The library provides opportunities for the youth in our community to experience a wide range of fun and exciting programs, such as Teen Time (Wii and board games), LEGO Club, Family Fun Night, Teddy Bear Tea, magicians, music performances, author visits, hands-on science programs, and participation in the state-wide Summer Reading Program.
